Polly’s presentation feels such a powerful in this season, where S1 was mostly a few core suits and outits that established her as a stoic voice of reason, now we have more colour introduced, her hair is less controlled, you can feel there’s been a change. There’s also a lot going on behind the scenes - like the small children’s toys Helen bought simply to keep the moment she found out Polly had lost children. The switch back to a suit reminiscent of her ones in S1 the moment Michael is taken feels significant to me, like her defences are being put up again. The reclamation fo power in the finale is amplfiied by that outfit, the way it also looks like a wound inflcited on her, one so blatant against the white and yet nobody around her seems to notice. It’s poetic.
